The Hammerhead Experience

So what do you get for your money?

The ethos of Hammerhead is visitor participation. All the games you will find at the show cater for involvement by the public and cover a wide variety of periods and settings as diverse as Warhammer 40k and the War of the Roses, Warmachine and the Great War of 1914-18.
When you enter the show you will receive a unique show bag. Within you will find, aside from the usual flyers and show plan, a unique 30mm figure sculpted especially for the show (if you are among the first 600 visitors) and a draw ticket.

The Prize Draw

If you register your draw ticket by 3.15pm you will be entered into a prize draw. Each year we give away a number of vouchers or as we like to call them ‘Letters of Marque’. These vouchers are exchangeable for goods with any trader standing at Hammerhead until show end.
If for any reason you have to leave early, we will contact you through the number/e-mail on your slip and you will receive the LOM at the start of the next show, but remember to keep your slip!

Every paying visitor has a Draw Ticket, but for each game you participate in you will be given a Game Slip. Take this to the Information Desk and you will receive yet another Draw Ticket for each Slip you collect.

The Figure

Each year we commission the sculptor Tony Quickenden to create a new and unusual figure for the show. Last year we went a little wild and had two figures commissioned, so that visitors got one or the other. And since we liked the results, we’ve gone and done it again. No confirmations yet as to what they are, but we’ll just say male or female, fifties and cold war for now.

The Bring & Buy

In this period of credit-crunching and lean-living, we have decided to keep the Bring and Buy (or Flea Market as our cousins across the Atlantic say) as a key facility of the show. Run by the highly efficient and non-controversial Wargames Emporium, visitors and exhibitors alike will be able to put their unwanted gaming matter up for sale. Nearer to the show, we will be putting up a contact website so that you can get your stuff registered ahead of the show.

Due to the recent hacking, we did lose all of our information on the previous shows including photographs, so I have put up a Hammerhead 2008 item. There you can see the Traders who attended and the games that were presented. Obviously the 2009 list will be different but you'll get an idea...
